skunk2 stage 1 cams worth it w/stock ecu?
i'm planning on buying skunk2 stage 1 cams but not sure if they'll be worth buying...i'm looking for max gains but i want to keep my stock ecu...i heard you have to buy a chipped ecu for max gains....opinions??thanks. btw-i have a 95 gsr.

you dont necessarily have to buy a chipped ecu...the cams will work fine w/ your stock ecu, but correct me if i'm wrong, the stage 1 cams make good power in the high rpm's, that it would almost be worth it to invest in a stronger valvetrane, such as the itr/skunk2/etc. Also, if your still using the stock intake manifold, the stock ecu is ideal because it reads the secondaries in the manifold....chipped ecu's dont. If you decided to go with a chipped ecu, you will definately see/notice some gains though, even with the stock manifold....
yes your stock ecu would work ok, but if you want the max power get hondata or reprogrammed ecu and a fpr. then you'll really feel a good difference.
i heard stage 1 u dont need to upgrade the valvetrain or nothing, it can run easyily on your stock settings, stage 2 iheard u need to upgrade your valvetrain and ecu, etc....i thnk you'll be aight,
