Hondata #4 with Race Header
Hi everyone,
I am looking to get the Hondata 4 and the comptech or toda race header for my rsx-s this spring, but I've been told not to as it will cause the car to run real lean. Is this true?
I want reliable horsepower as this is my only car.
Anyone here have either race header with hondata 4?
Any problems?
Thanks in advance!
Lisa

There are several threads on clubrsx regarding this issue. Running the Hondata #4 reflash with a race header does cause the car to run lean in the upper revs. This is so because that flash was not designed with a race-header in mind. You can get around this by purchasing the programmable Hondata ECU and tuning it with your setup. Do a search on clubrsx and you’ll find plenty of info, including information posted by Hondata.
Yes, someone else referred me to that site also. I don't want to do the programmable Hondata, because I don't think there's any dealers around here that can tune it.
If you don't want to deal with tuning, you should just get Hondata #4 and not get a race header. Honestly, whenever you mess around with flow, you will need to adjust for fuel and timing--either with Hondata, VAFC, or some other programmable unit. Look into the Hondata ITR program, I don't know if that has the same issues...but then you'd need to get ITR cams.
