Default Pyrotect Closed Face SA2000 Helmet.

My brainbucket arrived today.. Ordered Mon, arrived Wed w/normal UPS Ground!!

Thanks to Ken @ioport!

It's a Pyrotect (made by bell) Closed Face (SA2000). Picked it up for 264.95(and another one for the Mrs.) w/9.00 shipping (for 2 helmets.)
http://www.ioportracing.com/Me...de=PH

Thought I would post this up to help others looking for a good helmet @ a decent price.. and add the shameless plug for Ken

I ordered using the measure your 'ead and not try it on method. Ended up working out great for me, allthough I have heard horror stories of returning your helmet 2-3 times.

I just used this sizing chart here (according to brand.)

http://soloracer.com/helmetsizing.html

soloracer.com is a great site to order from as well.. but ioport was closer to me, and I needed it by Friday.

now for 'da pics

The helmet test...RealTypeR style

The can I eat in it test

The helmet itself..

This means I'm safe....for a while

My take: The helmet is super comfy, plenty of room to see through the eyeport, seems to have great ventilation..

More review to come after Wendover this weekend

Anyone looking for a decent helmet for a good price, this is a good choice IMO

Right on the UT/NV border.. It's an old airport runway, now serves as a *huge* autox course

Isn't the pyrotect just a subsidiary of Bell or something? When I was shopping around for a helmet this was an option because of it's price tag as well

Is the Pyro helmet made out of fiberglass or Kevlar?

Fiberglass. You won't find a kevlar for that price I don't think

I'm giving away a catback for an Integra.

See for yourself Free:

"Talk to DsR on Honda tech and see if he still has his
Stock 97 ITR exhaust. He might be willing to trade if
he still has it, Just tell him Jerry sent you"

Let me know either way!

I think my IM doesn't work because I'm a trial user right now. Click on my profile to get my email address. Your email address on your profile doesn't work...

I have the same helmet and have been pretty happy with it after a season of autocrossing, and 1 event at VIR North. I am however going to be writing an email with some pics to Pyrotech sson, and some hairline cracks have developed around the vents on the front of the helmet. Nothing major, but for close to $300 it's something not expected.
