Default Type R muffler on 2.5 piping ok?

i searched and have not seen anyone do a 2.5 piping into a type r muffler..i would be doing a dc jdm 2.5 header to a 2.5 carsound and 2.5 piping and was wondering if it running into a type r muffler okay? the reason i want that is because not only do i want the stock look but it to be quiet..i ask if its ok is because of air issues..i know about how youd always want the air to be same pipings for best flow..but im thinking the type r muffler is 2.25 inlet so welding it on would restrict air??..can anyone confirm this..also another question is 2.5 to 2.5 to 2.5 piping going to be obsencely loud or not too bad??thanks

it will be quiet, it will also sound like ****, just a hell of alot of air, also will yeild no power probaly will lose power, you gotta think with common sense you can go from big to big then to restrictive and small that makes no sense, there are exhausts out there that are quiet and have the stock ish look to them

the size of the piping doesnt have much to do with how loud it is, if you get the correct resonaters, like if you were to get all the stuff you listed before with a resonater in the midpipe, and got chambered muffler it whouldnt be that loud, now if you were to get a canister type it whould be kinda loud

like say comptech, rsr, fujitsubo or kakimoto are all chambered oem style exhausts and will be pretty quiet

not really it just makes it quieter, if you want an exhaust with no resonater no matter what muffler you put on there it will be pretty loud

Of course the muffler is a restriction for obvoius reasons...if it isn't 2.5" all the way, it's a restriction...

You can get a chambered muffler that flows better than the stock ITR one and it will still be quiet as long as you get the right number of resonators like mentioned above. And no, resonators are not restrictive if properly sized.
