I really good friend of mine is doing just that. As long as you use ALL the components - rods, crank, pistons - it will work.

ive got the exact setup...all parts(crank, rods, pistons)are gsr...you can use type r rods and pistons,or ctr pistons...fits perfect

They should all be the same (mains)...the all have PR3 part numbers i believe.

Did you check clearances, or just slap the same colors back in?

The Honda color-coded bearing system...did you just reuse the bearings?

Always get new bearings and check the clearances...

You didn't try to spin it a whole lot, did you?

they are brand new bearings, the problem is my crank won't spin at all. it is probably clearance issues

i am talking about clearance of the caps that hold the crank on and the crank because the crank is not spinning freely. right now the block is bare and i am trying to get the crank to spin without the rods connected

i am using aftermarket bearings, not stock honda bearings. my problem is the bearings are too thick. the guys that are running this set up, which bearings did you use so i know which ones to get

What's the thickness of the bearings you have?

Are you using the original paired block and crank? If so, check the bearing codes on the block and crank, get the appropriate sizes, and double check clearances. After you check clearances, go up or down in bearing size to get the right fit.

Or if you know the bearing sizes you have now, check the clearances and replace accordingly.

I would basically just start all over... For the mains get the alpha code off the block and take the numeric part off the crank... Once you have the alphanumeric code you can find which color OE bearing you would need... Once you have all of them mic your clearances... If everything is within the spec you are looking for then you're good to go, if not go up or down in thickness till you have your desired clearance... Should work just fine... This is Scott's (CrazyCompression's) street CRVTEC with B18C internals/girdle if you just wanna see pics (he originally was going to sell it so he could just have the money but his new FI motor is already setting him ~$30K so he's just going to run this motor this season)...

no i am not running the paired block and crank. it is a gsr crank in a ls block

Kataku2K3 thanks for the help. imma try to trade the guy(who i bought them from) the ones i have no for the ones that i actually need. hopefully he will trade me because the bearings look like they still came out of the box. no scratches or anything in them

That sounds good, if you do go with OE bearings let me know if you need any help with colors, etc... Also I just realized you're located in Oregon, if you don't mind me asking where abouts... I'm from Gresham but I go to OSU so I'm down in Corvallis during the school year (except some weekends)... Good Luck
