Home owners will not cover it. I just checked with State Farm, and since it is a race car, no dice.
Parish(sp?) Auto Insurance does it, I don't have the # handy but they advertise in Excellence and Panorama. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll dig it out. They cover everything except on track, so it's nice when you leave the car at the track over night to know you are protected.
There are specialty companies out there that provide coverage for storage and paddock, but most are tailored to valuable vintage cars. Can't think of any names off the top of my head though - maybe you should post to wheel-to-wheel.
Parish Heacock is the one that always advertises in GRM. http://www.parishheacock.com or 800.274.1804
You might also try to check with American Specialty (do a search), they write a lot of policies for clubs/events, so I would think that some division of their group does policies for this kind of thing.
PS- I can post to W2W with an inquiry if you aren't on there...

I've heard good things about Parrish too. I talked to someone who had coverage. FWIW, he said it covers the car for everything up to the point where you leave the false grid, then starts when you come back into the paddock.
The number should be in Sportscar too.

What designates a race car? Interior.. I had no use for it so I took it out. Cage.. I feel safer with it on the highway.. Any Engine mods are part of many street vehicles.. Harnesses.. again, they make me feel safer on the street.. How can they prove anything? If my car doesn't say "RACECAR" in big bold letters down the side of it, then it can be whatever I call it. If they designate my car as a racecar because it has a cage and harnesses, then any riceboy with Blue headlights and Monkeybars should have a racecar too right? Whatta they really know about racecars?
I don't know what the hell StateFarm's problem with insuring a race car for theft is. She said that, "since it is a race car, the likelyhood of it being stolen is much higher..." Who knows, maybe thieves now days like to steal vehicles that are REALLY loud, with number plates, and no license plates?
