Default fuel/tuning vafc

is there alot of power that can be gained on h22's by upgrading the fuel pump and injectors and getting it all tuned with a VAFC? I'm talking on a mostly stock motor here, like e/i/h.

Reason I ask is because I read a few kill stories about ludes with similar mods beating some decent cars. (most recent one was an s2k)

Thanks, BTW-I'm new to H22's, i pickup my CL tomorrow from Prospeed. Brian is doing my swap, he's a cool guy.

Well the only reason to ever upgrade your fuel pump, injectors or the fuel system it self if if the stock set-up cant or will have a problem suplying the engine with the fuel it needs. My set-up includes AEM CAI, Greddy EVO, AEM Pulleys, DC Header and VAFC and that is cupcake to what the stock fuel system can handle. I think the tunning of the VAFC is where the power is gained. But i think upgrading your injectors and or fuel pump would be an overkill because unless your force fed, the upgraded fuel system will be delivering the a fuel flow that the stock system can already provide.

hmmm.. ok thanks. that story in the kills made me think you might be able to get some big gains for some reason. I guess that s2k guy probably just couldn't drive. I plan on a similar setup to yours, so i'll be leavin the fuel alone.

Also make note that on my setup I had a S model prelude. This means that I had 245cc injectors, and my fuel pump had over 130k on it(not to mention that I wasn't sure if it was the same pump, though I now think it is). The thought of it giving out on me at 7500 rpm is not something that I want to have... My car is realativly stock, but as any other person does, I have intentions to make it bigger and better... All these reasons combined I decided to upgrade them; to take the next step. I can't imagine that it did it any harm, can you?

P.S. The fact that I'm one hell of a driver had some effect on that race too. The seccond race was a nice matchup until I hit traffic though...

And to anyone who wants to see these clips, here you go, and let me know what you think.
