Default clean engine bays, how is it done?

how the hell is this done? its AMAZING. i can easily see that things like the fluid reservoir are hidden, and the power steering and a/c are gone, but what else has been done to make them look so spotless?

First off both of those cars have paint jobs in which they sprayed the engine bay... Looks like it took care of most everything... The wiring looks factory to me but it is clean... I am extremely meticulous and don't like to see anything so whenever possible I run all the wiring through the chassis forward... This requires you to rip apart your interior/engine bay harness and add or pull wire as is needed to reach all your sensors/accessories (headlights, corners, horn, etc.)... It's worth it tho, clean engine bays make all the difference

Yea, you really do need to add a little as the wire takes a longer path running it through/under the chassis... I'll try to get you some pics this coming weekend when I head home from school... Kinda busy with midterms right now

I try to find a place where the wire absolutely will not be seen, so yea normally I add it into the middle of the wire I'm extending, soldering all connections, and shrink wraping... Most of the time I don't use loom in these cases but I do wrap the wire with a solid band of electrical tape... It doesn't bother most people but I only use 3M Super33+ as it is super soft and deals with heat/weather extremely well... You can loom if you choose to do so...

Yea, I always do, they don't really do anything especially if you're running Hasports or something of the like...

to move a fusebox, do you have to cut and rewire each wire?

Not unless you have stiffer aftermarket mounts or inserts. I didn't have mine in for a while, and when I finally put them in it was a world of difference.

they are talkin about the mount right by where the ac compressor would be. on a b or d series.

in your case i doubt u have them anyways, since you got the H motor in there.

Both of those are using half-sized radiators, which opens up the front there. Of course, if you don't need the space, I think it's a silly on anything but a drag-only car.

And I think you'd be crazy not to use a tranny mount. Front mount, sure - that's fairly common, but you've gotta have something holding up the passenger side of the engine. Running 2 out of the 4 is just begging for the remaining ones to rip out of the frame & drop your engine to the pavement.

I noticed the exact same thing. But a battery has enough juice to get you around for a couple days if you have to, so pulling the alternator would be alright for a drag car or trailer queen.

Aren't there 5 mounts? the left, right, and rear engine/tranny mounts and then the two smaller ones?

But, damn are those bays clean!!

Not necessarily, I highly doubt that made that much difference as there isn't much too them... Yea, normally I don't install them (unless asked to) but with Prothane inserts or Hasports but if you don't run them with stock mounts your motor will "rock" just as much... Here's a test, if you're running stock mounts take off the two front lowers and go drive your car around, notice any difference with wheel hop, etc.? I really don't think you'd be able to tell... As for the pics, I'll get them up for you just as soon as I go back home this weekend (at school right now)... I've never tried relocating the under the hood fuse box but it too wouldn't be that big of a deal if you really wanted too... I can't tell with the EJ but the EH is still running it up front too...

Yea you can't do that, we're talking about the front lower mounts (aka torque or vibration mounts) as they really don't make much difference...
