cutting skeleton out off hood???

I was wondering if anyone ever heard of cutting the skeleton off the hood for weight reduction? If so, about how much weight do you lose and how exactly do you go about doing this?

don't do it unless you want "flap, flap, flap" when you're driving down the highway. Removing the backbone of your hood really focks with the structural integrity of it.

i doubt its gonna shave off THAT much weight. The heavy part of the hood is the actual hood. Its most likely more trouble than its worth to cut the skeleton out.
