Some people were telling me that the insight battery needs to be replaced every 6 or so years and that it's like a $3,500 part. Anybody else heard this or know if it's true? How long should the battery last? It's only a battery, it's got to be replaced sometime. My little cell phone battery didn't last 2 years...

 

****, just buy a lot of D lithium batteries..i bet they would work the same.

but if you want to make it faster by upping the vcore, you will use more power.

 

at 6 years it would be covered under warranty

 

i heard the prius etc etc was 3-4 years

and the battery is NOT under warranty since its a "wear item"

kinda offsets the gas savings lol

 

Actually the standard Honda warranty covers everything IMA related for 8yr/80K.

 

Technically everything is a wear item.
