Default Buying A DX....

Ok guys. I am in my final stage of buying a car. I have found one on eBay in great condition. It is a 1990 Honda Civic DX HB. It only has 77,000 miles on it. I dont have much money now. So I am going to have to buy something cheap. I am planning on added some kind of intake filter and a new kind of exhaust and a cd player. That is about it. Oh yeah, wheels and urethane bushings. That is pretty much all the mods. I was just wondering what you guys thought. I need something I can take up to the Smoky Mountains (where I live) without it getting stolen. I am getting a civic so I can stick my mountain bike in the back. So like I said, what do you guys think? Check out the car on ebay and reply.

I forgot to ask. Is there any intake systems that will fit a DX?

Thanks

ok listen it is a standard. it doen'thave a 5 sped he made a mistake in the description and said it was a 4 speed. it won't have a tach on the guage cluster and it only has a 70 horse motor init. i know this because i have one. it is a god car to start on but don't plan on doing a lot to tha tmotor. it isn't worth it. i can probably get you the hook up on a tranny if you let me know something.that car is thelightest out of all of the civics though so you picked a good choice. and i think that guy has a deal on his hands. i would buy it

Yeah...it is an awesome platform to start on. Dont buy a header for it or any motor stuff. Just work on the suspension if you dont have the loot for a swap. I love the smokey mountains. I got married there. Near Pigeon forge. Those roads are sick. I had my wife get out like 10 times to shoot some footage of me killing a corner or smoking the tires down the road with a killer background. I miss it there.

Sweet Blown90HatcH. There are some awesome old roads out in the county and the mountains. I plan is about another year to get an engine swap. I want a light body and a huge moter. Sound good? I just dont have much money now. So I have to save up some. Also this may sound so dumb to some of you but I am planning on getting an awesome new mountain bike in the soon future. It will cost close to the price of my car. Around $1300. So I am into cars and bikes. Thanks for the help.

You can get an intake for it, but if doing a swap later, I wouldn't really spend the money!
My CRX has an AEM cold air, and it is a dx( intake was on the car when I bought it ). I don't know what I am going to do for an intake when my swap is finished ( 1.8 ls motor ), any suggestions??

crux also has a dx, one thing ive heard bad about them is the way their wired, if you step up to a new motor youll have to change out a few wires, which isnt a huge problem just something some people frown on since its a dx, am i right trinity? andy? and like they said, put you $ into the suspension, youll be happy esp when you step up to a larger motor

You have to convert it multi-point fuel injection instead to the 2 injector dual-point setup

yes you are correct and it isn't that hard to do jsut abig freakin pain in the ****. i just had to do that but i am glad i did. if i was this guy i wouldn't waste my time on this motor, it is really useless. if he wants someting kinda tempoaray put an 91 SI head on it, it will give him a little power. that is what i did before i put my other 2 motors in my car.

I have only been to Kentucky once ShaggenWaggon. So to answer you question, no. I live right outside of knoxville. about 15 miles south.

Also, i didn't get the car. I am going to wait a little longer and leave my options open. Also it will only cost me like $400 bucks more to do a ZC swap or Vtec swap in a DX because like you guys said, the wiring. So I will probably go with a dx.
