mase, im not running rich on nitrous at all. the stoichemetric ratio for the complete combustion of nitrous and gasoline is approximately 9.7:1 and for N/A 14.7:1 so if anything im running rich off the bottle and just about right on spray.

Daboi630, my mods are found at http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/lude

um not quite dude.

Look at your power curve, its greatly increasing until all of the sudden you go extremely rich, you're not making much power. your afr should be steady at 12:1.

I think you're confused here.

First of all, Under Load(Full throttle for instance), your motor should never be above 13.5:1 afr. otherwise its too lean.

Now at cruising loads, you want your car to run 14.7:1 or higher to improve your gas mileage.

with that being said, you should neglect whatever you heard about running a 9.7:1 afr.

Im not sure where you got the number 9.7:1 is stoich for nitrous/fuel, i dont know and dont care.

Point is, When you activate nitrous, you have your nitrous (which is an oxidizer) and you have your fuel and air.

Furthermore, I can bet you $$$ you are losing power due to the rich conditions.

ACT clutches are great, I run one in my car which is quite powerful.

As far as this is concerned:

Your A/F is totally fucked. You have nitrous yes, but you are still running gasoline... not methanol, ethanol, or alcohol... all of which have lower stoich numbers for a/f ratio's.

Most guys tune nitrous for a 12.0:1 a/f ratio for maximum potential.

You are just waiting to get ringwash arent you?

First off, how the HELL did you get that much torque from a 50 shot? It has to be a screw up....

Second off, you're running terribly rich (I just had to say it again ). 12.5:1 is where you wanna be when spraying.

Nice numbers! Looks like you really need to turn the VTEC xover down.

yup ive noticed people smoothing out the vtec engagement by lowering it to 4500. not on the top of my list tho. a clutch is tho i dont know how long the stocker is gonna last with torque like this

as far as this debate on a/f goes again i know 14.7 is stoich for N/A i posted that at the top of this thread. but how can u think stoich burn for nitrous and gasoline is the same when the chemical make up of the mixtuire is completely different. there is 36% o2 by weight in nitrous as opposed to 20% in air. this is gonna throw all the calculations off. u can also find in Mike Kojima's honda/acura engine performance book in the nitrous ijection section pg 104. or u can click here i just found this online http://www.rx7.org/Robinette/nitrous.htm 4th paragraph down.

and finally nitrous express has put much R&D into designing there kits, if they can pull +61whp and +132 from a 50 shot and have a have that kinda fuel curve there has to be a reason for it. im not gonna start swappin out the fuel jet for a smaller one to tune my a/f on nitrous to anything less than where its at.

again the gains ive made, i think, are great for what it is and it seems to be in a very safe level. maybe if i had a built motor i would begin to tune my jets to my specific goals.

btw thank you all for the feed back keep it coming

I'm not positive, but doesn't a wideband measure oxygen content like an 02 sensor? if so, then ur A/F should still be 12:1 no matter what the actual chemical ratio is.

bottom line is with a fuel curve that rich nothing is gonna go wrong on nitrous. the power gains are good for what the shot is. so im gonna keep it that way till i get used to it and want more power. which is when i'll go ahead and spray a 75

homesauce u made a good point thanks
