my question is could the ecu be frying the coil? if u have input let me know

 

check your plug wires....look for anything arching.........

 

Your ECU isn't directly tied to the igniter....but the ICM [igniter control module] is.

Have you done a tune-up lately, changing out cap, rotor, plugs, and wires?

You will typically see people replacing both the coil and igniter as a set. When one goes, it typically takes the other with it.

 

new cap and rotor and new plug wires......we are going to replace the ignitor and see if it was just a fluke

yeah 2 in a row......i think we narrowed the problem down, thanks for your help guys

 

What kind of wires are you using? a friend was using nology wires and he was going through coils until he started using different wires....

just a thought...
