ignitor replacement
is my ignitor the small thing that is wired up to my coil? i have an external coil and my tach bounces around after about 3500

check to see if any wires are shorting out first, i had the same problem before and thats what it was. if it is the ignitor, yes little square thing inside the cap with all the plugs on it.

Same thing happened to me. put in a brand new distributer... turned out that it was a bad ground wire on the thermostat. I suggest you check your grounds first before replacing stuff.

well i actually had to move my ground from my thermostat housing the people that pulled the motor that is in my car broke the head off of the bolt on the thermo housing
