d16y8 cat/exhaust manifold interchangeable with d16y7 cat/exhaust manifold
Here is the situation and question
i own a 2000 ex coupe and a 1998 dx hatch
i plan to buy a header and a hi-flow cat for my coupe soon, the question is will i be able to replace that nasty stock cat/exhaust manifold from my hatch with my stock ex header and cat with absolutely no modifications, such as welding?
will this be a bolt off/bolt on job
remember the d16y7 have the gay exhaust manifolds with the cat integrated into it

the manifold will bolt up to the head fine but the mid pipe will have to be cut and welded to make room for the cat. I just installed a dc header and a highflow cat (for and ex) onto my dx coupe and we had to cut a few inches off of the mid pipe to make it work. hope that helps
since the dx hatch's exhaust manifold/ cat is shorter, it would seem that the exhaust would be closer up. so for the ex header/ cat to fit on, it would seem like you have to cut/unbolt the exhaust so teh cat can bolt on.
