going to get tuned in 2 weeks and dont want to use race gas. i got tuned on stock internals and got 326 on pump gas ( i know thats not a big deal) and now that i lowered my compression to 9:1 i am shooting for 450 to the wheels and would lie to know if i can get that on pump gas. can it be done?

 

I think with a good tuner you should be capable, but tough

 

What turbo? that will be a big determinate. I also wouldnt try to make that number of **** gas with out sleeves..

Oh and by the way, like the car

 

not on 91 or 93 octane! no way no how. perhaps if it was a completely race prepped head and piston set.

 

maybe...getting it tuned is the only way to find out. Post back when you get it tuned...i want to see your results..What octane will you be running?

 

thanx guys. i have a really good tuner here that i trust. he is really honest and sits down to talk things over with you about stuff before he just gets to work and he actually listens to what u want too then makes suggestions on things and lets u decide.

i am running a golden eagle block guard to help a little bit. i think i can probabyl do 400-450 on pump gas. any mroe an i will definately switch to race gas. i just think about it liek this how often am i gonna use race gas on the street lol. ill be on 93 all the time. so i want to get tuned for what ill use on the street

 

I dunno if I'd push that, I know it cant be done but I dont think its worth the risk. Usually the rule goes 400whp is the limit for pump, of course people push it but what else is new...some pay dearly, some dont. Cylinder pressures will be on the UP and UP and that isnt good in this case. Im sure Mase, and a few others will chime in from the tuners POV.

Without knowing your setup I'm going to say no. I think you should set more realistic goals. While you may be able to run 25psi of boost on 93 octane for one dyno pull and lay down 450whp, I definitely wouldn't drive it very far from your home without AAA plus.

 

my setup is in my signature. i think my setup is very capable of 450 hp

 

whocares about pistons and rods most aftermarkets will hold that it is what turbo you are using that will be the deciding factor

 

In his garage, it says t3/t4e. That is very general, we need some specifics.
but i doubt you could push 450 on a t3/t4, maybe i'm wrong

 

It's not to hard to get 450whp on pump gas. My former civic made 450whp w/14psi on 93 octane, however the turbo was 62-1

a/r .50 m-24 i beleive it was hard to see down there... what do u guys think?

and why is that?? i have seen guys with smaller turbos mainly the t3/t4 B max out at about 410-420 to the wheels. what is that maz i can probably get from this turbo with this trim then?

 

Nah I don't think with that turbo you will beable to make that hp, just my opinion though. Hopefully I'm wrong

 

i dont think it would be wise to shoot for 450 whp on pump gas with your setup.

You would probably have to max out that turbo, and retarding the timing that much on pump, your egt's would probably be out of control.

If you want 450 so bad, id run race gas.

its dependant upon your tuner. Is it possible? sure. Will you get there? We'll have to find out

well i guess ioll find out in 2 weeks then hehe. just figured that someone in here might have maxed out the same turbo i have and could tell me what htey mxed out at.. thats all. but thanx for all the replies guys

i always keep this in mind for just a tipy toe safety back.. 100 horses per cylinder on pump gas is really pushing it.. and thats based on 92octane

 

ill be going back to ed soon. hopefully pulll of some better numbers this time.

 

well do. the only thing holdin me back from tuning is i have a bad MSD 6A box that i bought off ebay it was DOA and i didnt install it for like a month by the time i installed it and found out it was too late to do anything. so i am buying another one and then getting tuned.

BTW ILLUZION you have forged internals why is your power so low in your sig.... unless that was before you upgraded your motor internals..
