Default When good oil pumps go bad..A parents heartbreak

This happened going into 4th gear and drove our car for several seconds at 8000 rpm wih no oil pressure.
Luckily we were using ACL bearings and they held up at high rpm with no oil. I put a few rod bearings in with the pump gears for you to see.

How many miles were on it? I have a stock gsr oil pump with 70k miles, should I re-use for my 85mm b16, that with a prodrive gear or get a brand new oem gear?

Don't let this turn you off to a stock oem pump. They are great. To be honest, I will probably use another oem. Maybe we will put in some pro-drive gears..not sure until we find the absolute cause of the failure

For no oil pressure, those ACL bearings look pretty good. Could've been ALOT worse.

yeah im gona have to agree...oem oil pumps are good for almost anything..

like he said, it ran dry on oil. which could have been lots of things......it needs lube too, and it lubes everything else....so when it goes so does everything else
