Neglecting any style/appearance or weight concerns, is there any reason to not run steelies as track wheels? I'm looking for a super cheap alternative for my S13 240SX, and it seems I may be able to find some in 16x7, which while being heavy, would be a good size. My stock wheels are broken, which is why I'm not even considering them. They're also 15"ers, and I believe will not clear the upgraded calipers I plan on running. I'm looking more for any info on if they're unsafe or anything. Thoughts?
To be clear, this will be for a car used specifically for HPDE-type events, some street use, but not much, definitely not competitively racing or autoxing.

OEM steel wheels are great if your on a budget. The only problem is they are usually narrower than alloys.
Semi-custom steelies like from Diamond Racing are also good. Again, cheaper than alloy wheels, but a bit heavier. A bit more money than OEM steelies, but you get the width you want.
