im taking a class at west valley community college to learn how to paint you should check out some schools near you. I wouldn't just paint a car without knowing what to do.
sup man i'v been paint cars as a hobby for a while. Did everything in my garage and turned out pretty good. If you have any questions just im me.
Well the most important thing when painting a car is the prep work.
Things I suggest buying, wax and grease remover, sand sheets ranging from 150, 300, 800, 1500, and 2000 grit, a tack rag, sanding block, and and a mask or respirator.
1.you should wash your car to get off any lose dirt and stuff.
2.wet sand with 1500 grit
3.wipe car off with wax and grease remover followed by a cloth soaked in warm water. (try to wipe off wax and grease remover with warm water before it dries, no big deal if it does though)
4.use tack cloth to wipe off car
5.spray primer
6.spray color coat
7.I would wet sand after the second to last coat of color.
8.Spray clear and wait 2-3 days and then buff and polish car.
Good luck and take your time!!!
