Jackson Supercharger?
I have a CRX SI with a JDM b16a with an 92 LS tranny and a few other small things done. I was considering adding a jackson racing supercharger, but a lot of my buddies advised against it. I have heard mostly good things about jackson's supercharger other than that they tend to get hot really quick.
Let me know what you think. I was considering turboing my car, but decided i didn't want to spend that much money. Cus if i turbo i am going to do it right.
Any other suggestions for low end power and more torque would be greatly appreciated. I would like to stay under the budget of $2000.

in my eyes a supercharger is more expensive and its not as easy to just turn up the boost. even if you only have 2000 to spend save a little more and get a turbo set up. thats what i would do.
The only problem I see with turbo is, is the more work and the more upkeep, on our way to canada last year a buddy of mine had so much trouble with his setup it was just annoying. I also use my car for daily driving during the summer.
my friend has jackson kit with endyn mods. and loves it the only thing is it is getto as hell we bent 3 wrenchs and broke lots of other tools to put that thing on. with turbo you can turn the boost up a supercharger you cant. and intake tempture goes through the roof no intercooler.he has problems with his also its not just turbo that has problems.
Yeah, thats going to be a problem for me is overheating. If it overheats then i'm in big trouble. I am going to race a Mid-Ohio sports car club course, and the intervals of race time are like 30 minutes. Maybe i'll slap on some big fans. I'm now considering CR-Vtec. Haha, i keep changing my mind.
Ummm, if you do your turbo setup RIGHt, with proper feul managment, and and a good tune on teh dyno, you can definatly have a reliable setup. I know people who have had there turbo setups for over a year now with hardly and major problems, maybe just simple things starting out. ANd a supercharger, is definatly gonna cost more than 2000, unless you can find a good deal on a used one. I peiced my whole turbo kit together, using NEW, and NICE parts, for around 1500, but i already had a vafc for feul. Thats a brand new T3, tyrus FMIC(nice!), turboxs BOV, tial wastegate, log mani, dsm 450's., vafc2, and all teh charge pipes and oil lines, for around 1500, and if you are a real good shopper, or by some of teh minor things like BOV or wastegate, manifold, etc, used, it saves alot of doe.
In fact, the only thing that you should buy new would be teh turbo, oil lines, and everything else could be bought used, which would cut cost alot. Oh, i was running around 9-10 psi, have it all off right now, waiting to finish my new car project.
So imho, i would jsut do a decent turbo setup with a smaller turbo that will spool up real quick, and walla, saved yourself money, and youll have more potential.

When i say do turbo right, i mean:
JE pistons
Eagle Rods
Golden Eagle Sleeves
Crank work
New main bearings
ARP Head studs
Intake Manifold
70mm Throttle Body
Hondata enginge management system
and then a turbo kit.
Find a way for me to do that for 1500 bucks and i will. I want to be able to run 20 low end boost and 30 high end boost if i do it. Thanks for the help though. Any other ideas or ways to spend 2000 bucks to get better low end torque and more HP?? and to be able to run the car Hard for 8, 30 minute intervals and then still be a daily drive after that?

what your saying doesn't make sence to me. if you do a turbo setup then you will completely build the block. but if your gonna supercharge it your not? boost is still boost no matter where in the powerband it kicks in at. you can safely run 10-12 psi of boost with a good tune on the dyno on a stock engine.

I bought a JRSC for 1300 and I love it!!! I was in the same boat as you, I didn't want to go turbo becuase I wan ted to do it right. For cheap, daily driven, reliable power I vote JRSC...Matt ( Remember this is my opinion and just like AS***les everyone has one)
There isn't a big difference both are going to give you headache's if done wrong, any if you have a shity fuel system, your going to get screwed both ways
. If you are going to waste your money on a JRSC you might as well get a ls/vtec, than agian you can get a 2.0 CRV with week sleeve's. Either way your cash man lol, I am getting a fully built LS/VTEC 200+ whp That's cost me a pretty dime, but for a easy 12 second ride why not
I should be around 220whp and 150+ Torque, but who know's its not done.
Get a LS/VTEC, or just save your money.
