Default car bogs when vtec engages...

my car is in desperate need of tuning, but also is burning lots and lots of oil... itr pistons, skunk2 stage 2 cams, retainers/valves/springs, b16 head with some machining.. anyway, whenever i do WOT runs from 3-4k in any gear, my car bogs like crazy on vtec then makes power later on... and in 5th when i hit vtec, it makes a really bad popping sound and the car slows down considerably... can anyone attribute my oil leak to this? also, my compression #'s are 170 all the way across with all cylinders under 10% leak in the leakdown test

ok 1st off, stop driving it. the first time you noticed it started to bog really bad, you should stop driving it. and get it dyno tuned asap.

guessing u have an integra gsr. 170psi in each cylinder seams kinda low. are you sure you did it correctly?

what ecu are you running on?

is your fuel pressure stable? could be a leak somewhere perhaps. burning tons of oil and hitting vtec = not good. better get that oil burning fixed asap.

i have to drive it, it's my only car. my fuel pressure gauge shows everything is fine. ive got a mugen chipped ecu. the shop did the compression test twice when they did the leak down test, im going to do the test myself once i get the tool, so i can make sure that they didnt **** up the test. oh yeah, i think my gas mileage is going to hell too

Clogged cat? I remember some guy on here said his car was getting very slow and that he was getting crap gas mileage... turns out his cat was clogged. What kind of cat are you running?

I use a chipped ECU also, but I took it out because I think it messed my car up by running super rich (my gas mileage was crap also). If you've got a stock ECU, try plugging that in and see if you get different results.

hmmm i never thought of the cat...

anyway, ive got ANOTHER problem on top of this!! whenever it gets moist outside, like after a rainfall, my car won't start.... it'll crank, but it takes like 20 minutes of cranking till it finally starts... i dont know what the hell is going on with that i replaced the spark wires and the plugs...
