Default Blown Motors

There's alot of talk on other car boards about the RSX motors giving out due to mis-shifts. How many reported cases are there? I've only heard of one, is there more? Is the RSX shift patterns too close also, like some Celica owner say thirs are? Just trying to gather info, I know this is a subject alot of you don't hope to have to deal with.

Nah.

Anyone who's foolish enough to shift from 6th to 3rd doin' 80-90mph does not belong in a car or on the road.
I figure they're isolated incidents - if durability/reliability were an issue, we would've heard something by now from more reputable sources than somebody on the internet...

If you ask me the dealership should turn away all the people who screw their engines over from mis-shifting. Not honda's fault these people don't know how to drive for gods sake.

Shifting the Type-S, I definitely understood how some people could have mis-shifted, but regardless, this is operator error and not a design issue.

They are not doing it anymore!! you blow it from a misshift and you buy your own engine

Uh. Sure.
I still think quality issues dealing with the RSX would be hard to cover up, especially with the Integra's fanbase having grown from the late 80's to the present. Either those reports of problems come from driver error or from people who need to get a life...

99.9 % driver error from misshifts and the other .1% will not admit a misshift

You both proved my point.

But, damn... these people must really SUCK if they mess up the tranny like that. I bet they've been watching too many OPTIONS import car videos.

Watching drift cars and actually drifting are completely different tasks.
