2.5" piping with stock muffler on H22? Opinions
Hey I had the stock muffler welded to my 2.5" piping cause I got my second ticket for modified exhaust. The cops should leave my alone this way too cause it's nice and quiet untill I get on it.
Do you guys think this is too restrictive with the stock muffler?? It really doesn't feel too different, but I was wondering if any of you guys knew the best size piping/ muffler combo for a JDM H22 with just intake for now. Thanks.

I would imagine the stock muffler is a restriction on your setup, but without anymore modifications, probably no more than 3 or 4 hp. But unless you take it to a dyno, no way to say for sure. Are you using a resonator?
From everything I've read/researched, a 2.5" outer diameter piping is a good size for an H22 - it's probably a tad overkill on an otherwise stock motor, but not so much so as to make your low end completely frustrating.
