nope, the axels come apart from a inner cv joint, that stays in the box, and keeps fluid in

i concur, my b16 del sol and h22 teg both leaked when i took the axles out, the inner and outter joints are considered parts of the axles, it depends on the angle you've got it jacked up at also

why would you pull apart the cv joints??!

If you pull the splines out of the diff, yes tranny fluid will come out. If you turn it on it's side...you you can pull the axles while the tranny is in the car and nothing if any will leak out.

only a small amount of fluid will come out when half shafts removed, but it wont drive.

if the tranny is not level oil can pour out of the holes for the axles.

exactly. why would you pull the cv joints apart? maybe to replace the bearings but you don't need to pull apart the cv joints to pull out the axles. and yes, it'll leak tranny fluid if the whole axle is removed from the transmission.

It will leak a little when you pull out the axles, dont pull the cvs apart, thats even more of a mess. If you tip the tranny it will pour out.
