well i got out and yanked on the shifter a few times, and now it shifts 1-5 and reverse perfectly! I have put in the ES shift bushings but everything looks tight. any ideas wtf is going on?

sounds like you may have melted the pressure plate to the disc... on my old 90 ls i could move the shifter to any position but no matter where the shifter was, it would stay in 3rd gear... so i had to drive around in 3rd gear all the time... that sucked major ***... turned out that the pressure plate and clutch disc were melted together

i did that for about a month or so... its funny to have people stare at you while you rev your car up to 3 grand at every red light or stop sign... then you dump the cluth and the car stutters and hardly moves at first... its embarassing but funny

well it was stuck in 1st pretty good, and i figured since i thought the tranny was fubard that i would try and jam it a few times.. i got it to where i could get it into 2nd with a hardddd pull. then after playin with it a few mins it shifts perfectly just like it did before... the only thing i have done lately was added ES shift bushings.. beats me! still a good reason for me to buy Si tranny
