winshield repair kit...do they work?
They sorta work. I did a stone chip on mine. There was only a tiny chip on the surface, but a round fracture underneath the surface. Maybe it would work better if most of the chip was actually at the surface.
Make sure you clean it really good first, so the adhesive disk seals very good. The idea is you pull back the plunger on that syringe thing, to suck all the air out of the chip. Then push the glue into the chip.
It certainly didn't make it invisible, but it was a lot better. My windshild chip was there for a couple of years before I decided to do anything about it, so that probably had something to do with it. I was convinced that mine would grow into a crack, so I could get a free new windshield from the insurance... If you don't wait so long it might work better.
