Default Can someone explain timing advance with safc?

Boosted motor with 450cc and safc. Can someone explain exactly how and why the safc advances the ignition timing.

I don't know if this is correct but this is what I read.
It's from the voltage that the map sensor sends it.
Exaple. A 3bar map allows you to run more boost because it sends less voltage to the ecu (10psi on the stock map is say 5 volts, 10psi on a 3bar is say 2.5 volts).
Or 10psi on the stock map = 5 volts while 3 bar 5 volts = 20psi (just numbers). So since your runing 7psi your ecu will see 4volts. make any sense? kinda vague, i'm still learning how it works too. So basically the higher the voltage the more timing advance. Thats whay a 3bar works up to 29psi.

so if what your saying in correct, installing a 3 bar would cut down on the timing advance significantly. Correct?

From what I understand Yes.
But you cant run a 3bar map on your stock ecu. Read teh archives it has a few posts pertaining to this.
All i know is that I cant install my 3bar map and drive to the shop to have my hondata installed and tuned unless I leave the connector for my stock map hooked up and run the stock map until i get there. It makes it run all funny.
