Default F23A1 engine 93 Prelude S

Hi, I would like to know if that' s a mistake coz I got an F23A1 16V SOHC non VTEC under my hood as stock motor.
By the way, what' s the max power you can get from an SOHC engine?
I know you' ll tell me to swap to an H22 but I live in TAHITI & they are only a few preludes here, and none are VTEC, Honda have never sold it here.
I think there might be some SI, I saw 1 once in a junkyard but the motor was incomplete.
Thanks for your help

are you sure that is not an H23a1, the f23a1 only came in the newer accords, from 98-2002 accords, and if it is the f23a1 motor, the one that is the sme as what is in accords, it should be a SOHC VTEC, unless you have some weird hacked up version from who ever owned the car before you

Are you sure you didnt mean f22? The max horsepower you can get from an F series engine wouldnt even compare to what you would get just swapping in an h22 (enless you go FI). If no one has an h22, then you should get one and everyone would envy you becuase you are so bad ***.
I asked this one time ( about the max hp on an f22) and everyone said that with my F22 that an intake, exhaust, headers, cams, pullys, fuel rail, throttle body, and other stuff, my car would only gain about 8-12 horsepower and i would be spending upwards of 2,000 dollars when i would just spend 2,000 for an h22 and get 200 hp

I'm quite certain you can have one imported. If you want one, call up some of the importers here in the states and see if they can sell you one, but have it shipped to you from Japan instead of from the states.
