Default Lowering my car for performance (not slammed)

I have a 1990 Honda Civic Std., i was wondering how much i should lower it? am i correct in saying that i want to get both the front and rear LCAs as horrisontal as possible? also does anyone know if a 90 civic Si is any lower then a Std.? most springs say they are for a Si and not a DX/Std. I will take some mesurements tomarrow to see where the LCAs are now. Thinking it wont be more then 1.5in (hope not), also i'll be running Tokico HPs (i didn't have the money for adjustible struts... and i still dont) so i dont want to drop it to a point where i blow a strut

Given that this is the RR/AX forum, might I suggest you mention what type of competition you're currently doing?

Heh, well as long as it pertains to competition I don't really mind, but I know that's a whole different discussion.

As for the original question, if you're not competing yet you get the stock answer which is...well...stock. Don't mess with anything until your experience competing and your rule book tell you what you need.

I had my '91 STD hatch lowered 2" and it did really well at that height. I forget what the accual numbers were but the camber came out to be almost ideal for auto-x without having to buy a camber kit. Once I get my GCs on the CRX I plan to set it about the same.

Also, I can't think of any reason the Si would use different springs than the std or DX. they should be the same accross the board with any 88-91 sedan, hatch, or crx.
