Default unwelcome intertwining of metal and possibly bad rings?

While leaving the mall today, i was following this car and he slows to turn off. Well, i was in 2nd so i didnt really need to downshift, so instead i just pushed in the cluch. The rmp's droped and continued to drop until it stalled. It was no suprise as it had done this once before. (also while pushing in the clutch and coming to a stop) Well, as previously stated, i was in 2nd so i attempted to shift into first and i hear metal going everywhere. It didnt sound normal, almost like someone and thrown a handful of washers in the tranny. It started right back up again. Another problem is, sometimes its real sluggish to get going, almost as if its getting to much gas and trying to bog down, but as rmp's rise it goes away. just got this car so im kinda pissed. So heres the needed information. 94 prelude vtec, 140k, looks like original spark plugs and wires, plugs are white, and rather rusty, smokes when first starts up, goes away after a while. Gas or oil squirts out the exhaust.

cliffs: car rarely stalls, smokes on startup, smells like gas, org plugs/wires....rings?
