vtec engagment
my question ...what is the oem ..stock...factory setting........again the vafc..on initial setting says lo to hi cam 5800 and then hi to lo 5400
so what is stock with no vafc ?
so what is stock with no vafc ?
The reason why you do not have VTEC engagement and disengagement at the same point is this: Imagine if it engages and disengages at exactly 5500, and you are driving right in that range, 5455-5600 RPM. The VTEC is going to rapidly turn on and off and your car will buck like mad. Instead if it comes on at 5800, and stays on even if you're at 5500 etc until you drop below 5400, no bucking. I worked with an aftermarket EMS for a time and there are a vast number of features that are controlled this way to prevent the feature from rapidly switching on and off, though I forget the correct term for this method of prevention.

For your cars safety and to save yourself some headaches just don't use the vafc, don't change any settings, don't do anything. May as well just unplug it or enjoy the pretty readouts if you're not going to let someone who knows what they are doing, a tuner, mess with it. Just trying to help out here.
only with the headers installed, thats when i could here it. I was under the impression that vtec engages at 5500 rpm on my stock d16z6. with the light and the headers installed. light and sound kicks in at 5000 rpm.. oh wells..
u guys are not understanding my question ..with the preset initializing for the vafc..before i touched it ...it reads and it also i can hear it engage at 5800 and shut off at 5400...then i did the same on a s2k ..same thing...so the question is ..what is the stock setting ??
