ITR swap in your EF's? Lets see them!!
OBD0-OBD1Well I spun a rod bearing in my 91 Si and I was thinking of swapping a B18C5 into it. I want to see some pics of this swap if anyone has some. Would a conversion of OBD be a must for this swap? Could I stay OBD0? Would the Zdyne ONE WIRE ECU be a good alternative for the swap instead of swapping to OBD1/OBD2. Another alternative would be to run the PW0 ECU with the wires for vtec to the ECU, ey?

Don't go OBD-II, don't stay OBD-O.
Use all the stock ITR injectors, distributor, etc and convert to OBD-I (they're compatible). Run a chipped P28

How hard would it be to convert to OBD1? What do I need? Wont I have to do all the wiring behind the dashboard and **** also? If I get the ITR swap I'm going to have the complete engine harness with it. Will that plug into my cars harness at the shock towers and then will I just be able to get a OBD0-OBD1 ecu conversion harness?
I'm afraid the C5 harness will NOT plug into your ED chassis. Not a chance. As for converting to OBD-I, do a search on here and you will find TONS of info! I can tell you that the stuff under the dash will not require modification.
Oh hell, I'll be nice. Here are the OBD-I pinouts and instructions:

So basically if I buy the OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness from Boomslang I'm set? Would I also have to use the engine harness from a 92-95 Si engine (D16Z6) or could I use the exisiting ITR engine harness? You said the ITR engine harness WONT plug into the EF harness where they meet at the strut tower though. What the hell do I do about that? Thanks for the help BTW.

Yeah you should be set with a conversion harness. May I reccomend http://www.vtecfrog.com - these guys have the nicest harnesses I have ever seen.
As for the OBD-II harness, you just take bits and pieces off of it and splice it into your existing 88-91 harness (distributor plug, injector plugs, etc).

Really? You converted to OBD-II??? Would you mind posting the steps you took to do this, just so we have a reference for it in the future? I know it's been done before, but it involves a lot of work and swapping.

Really? How much wiring was needed to convert from OBD0-OBD2? Did the OBD2 engine harness plugs plug into the EF car harness where they meet at the shock towers? Some help would be nice.

I'm just going to get the engine and buy a OBD0-OBD1 conversion from the guys over at vtecfrog.com. I just swapped in a D16Y8 in my friends EG VX hatch last nite and that consist of going from OBD2-OBD1. That was really simple. I used his existing OBD1 O2 sensor, OBD1 distributor, and a P28 ECU. I think this is going to be a little more complicating though. I'm still open for info though, so keep it coming!
It really won't be that bad. I swapped an OBD-II D16Y8 into my old CRX and it was the same as converting to OBD-I because the injectors and distributor worked with the OBD-I ecu.
Good choice with the vtec frog harness, it will really simplify things... I made my own convertor harness and it was NOT worth it! You won't be disappointed with that harness!

the conversion harness - where does it go? does it let you use whichever ECU you are trying to convert to? like if you had a OBD0-OBD1 harness, does that have the OBD1 connectors at the ECU (so you can run a P28) and then the OBD0 connectors at the engine bay (so you can just modify the engine harness)?
kinda confused..

http://www.vtecfrog.com They make a conversion harness to go from OBD0 --> OBD2a or b... Thats what i will be doing when I get the harness, so I can run my obd2a P73 JDM ITR ecu with my swap and run the computer that was meant to go with my JDM B18C-R motor...
Its alot easy to use the JDM ecu rather than a USDM ecu because the USDM ecu uses a few more sensors that have to be added to the EF. http://www.vtecfrog.com has all the info on there website pertaining to this conversion...

on my previous b18c, i didnt have the time to make my OBD2 harness (i was gonna run the jdm itr ecu) so i just kept it all non-OBD for awhile. i just ran a chipped PR3. actually most of the time i ran it with a stock chip. the PR3 or PWO ECU and a non-OBD distributor is all you need. just wire it up like a non-OBD b16a. OBD is better then non-OBD, of course, but if you ain't got the $$$, just go non-OBD. my ran just fine. baselined over 200whp on the non-OBD stuff too.
