Grrrrrrrrr.... Code 14.
I've just finished rebuilding my engine. It's a 98 GS-R. I pulled out the motor, had it sleeved, installed forged pistons/rods and put everything back together. I still have the stock intake manifold, TB, cams, etc, etc. Very close to stock except for the internals (and the turbo setup of course..
).
The very first time I fired it up it cranked and fired up perfectly with the stock OBD2 ECU. Idled flawlessly. Tried a OBD1 ECU with an adaptor harness. Fired up and idled.
Next day: Changed the injector clips on my harness for OBD1 injectors. Plugged in my resistor box and 880cc injectors. Made a chip for the 880s (Uberdata). Go to start car. Starts but immediately dies. Hrmmm.... Hold the gas open some... try it again... Car runs and stays running.
Try putting in stock size injectors (OBD0 I'm assuming since they are peak&hold and need the resistor box still). Crank the car. STILL won't idle on its own.... GRRRR... Getting a Code 14 for the IACV.
I have tried every which combination of ECUs, injectors, ROM burns, a different IACV, etc and no matter what I still have the same symptoms and the same code 14.
Now what changed from the first day I fired up until the 2nd that would make it decide to stop idling on its own. All I did was change the injector clips.
I temporarily fixed the problem by adjusting the throttle body stop, but I HATE the fact that I don't knoww hat happened. Any ideas?

Yup. Got it fixed. IACV wasn't getting power because I neglected to hook up every common wire when I did the resistor box install.
Important Note: EVERY one of those 4 wires you solder together to go to the resistor box are significant!!
