Help me my Accord is slow!!!
Hey cats how are you people doing. I have a completely stock untouched '97 Accord (the one with the horrific oil leak but after that gets fixed) I want to do atleast 14 sec quarter miles. Any tips besides engine swap. Anything welcome. Certain intakes that work well or exhaust systems. Types of gas. Anything to make it faster. Gears. Is there a way to put in a 6th gear? Stupid questions...probably. My mind may be weak but the spirit is willing. So any ideas welcome.
I have a '97 LX, I know that there is alot of info on the forum but usually it's like "swap in an H22" or "increase your boost" 2 things I don't have. I'd really appreciate anything.
Unfortunately it takes a good chunk of change to make rice burning four bangers go faster. All the standard bolt-ons won't get your car into the 15s. The only way to do it cheaply is NOS, which is only for budget drag racing.

Well, it really matters how much comfort you want to sacrifice. I say that to get into the 14's, you first have to make a heavy car lighter. Gut the interior, replace your heavy stock seats with a racing one that's much lighter. Get lighter rims, you know, pretty much anything that you can do to make the car lighter. Take out your A/C, power steering, stereo, etc. etc.
As for the engine mods, a header, K&N drop in with a removed resonator, and a good exhaust will be a start. Maybe a cam, cam gear and play with your timing. A new ECU or some sort of piggyback system will work as well. Check out http://www.hondata.com They might have something for the OBDII now. N20 will be a great help. Just read up and gain knowledge on how it works before you use it. If you have an auto, I would recommend N20 becuase there is no way you're gonna miss a shift or something. An F22B2 like you have will take around a 60 shot all day with little to no problems. Try http://www.zex.com Hope this helps.
