They all weigh the same.

But a CW hood or a PY hood are lighter in color than, say, a Milano Red hood.

CW is lighter than all.

Less Pigment = More Horsepower

actually, there are 3 base colors which make up all other colors, they are blue, red, and yellow. by mixing these colors you can obtain any other color under the sun. A popular misconception is that white is a base color, but in fact it is made by mixing exactly equal parts of the 3 base colors at the same Hue. So in fact, being that PY is made from a single base color (yellow) and a CW painted hood is made from equal parts of the 3 base colors(red, yellow and blue), it stands to reason that the CW hood weighs more. follows is a chart which demonstrates weight and horsepower gain associated with all the base colors:

Color Weight WHP Gain
Red 6lbs/Gallon +1
Blue 10 lbs/Gallon -8
Yellow .5 lbs /Gallon +10

By using simple algebra, you can calculate your additional WHP and sprung weight additions if you know how much paint was used.

And EVERYONE knows that PY is the fastest of all the R's, most will not admit it, but they know, oh yes, they know deep in their hearts...

Lesson Over

Nice lesson there... too bad it's entirely wrong.

You'd be quite the magician if you could make equal parts red, blue, green PAINT turn white.

You're thinking about light. It works exactly opposite with paint.

'94+ Integra hood is ~31 lbs. according to my bathroom scale (using the "weigh myself holding hood, then weigh myself and subtract" method). As a somewhat related FYI, my FiberImages C/F hood weighed ~16 lbs. using the same method.

I guess the question is, "is it worth $400+ for a hood that only saves me ~15lbs ??"

2 things you are missing,
1 : Green paint is made up of Blue paint and Yellow paint
2 : The only reason you can see any colors at all is because of LIGHT reflecting off the surface of the painted object.

I was wrong about one thing though, Yellow is worth 15 WHP

Light... is a mixture of all colors...
When a beam of light is shot through prism, you can see all the colors split up by size of wavelenght, purple being the shortest and red being the longest...
I believe if you mix all colors of paint, you will get black...

White light is made up of combined colors - but paint? Nope.

he said red, blue, and yellow. don't you know your colorwheel?

so a yellow car has 18 more whp than a blue car? and 9 more whp than a red car? so a bone stock ssbp gsr could be running mid-high 14s by stripping the paint and repainting yellow. hahaha. riiiiiight.

OK, let me see if I can clear this up a little. There are 2 types, additive color and subtractive color. I forget which is which at the moment, but the primary colors of light are red, blue, and green. The primary colors when dealing with paint are red, blue , yellow. By adding all of the primary colors of light you will get white light. By adding all of the primary colors of paint, you will get black. So with paint, white is the absence of color, but we see it as white because all the colors of light are reflected back to our eyes.

Note: You can not make white by mixing other colors of paint.

Back to the topic:
You mean the Magical Type R shares the same hood as the lowly integra. how common of the R. And to think I used to respect it. who would have ever though that the R was so closely related to a normal teg. From the way some R owners act, you would think that every part on an R was Super Special
