Default Carbon fiber hood question

Has anyone ever painted their cf hood.
What is involved?

Also have holes drilled for hood pins.
Dont want the hood pins anymore.
Want to repair holes or get black pins or locks

Has any ever done this.

Also my hood is very flimsy and is wobbly. The frame is only holding the hood on the edges. Kinda worried. B/c it isnt stiff like other cf hoods.

I would say if you want your CF hood painted...then take it to a shop that knows what they are doing and have them do it.

Just wondering, why do you want to paint it? if you bought it for weigth savings, fiberglass is just as light and easily paintable.

As for the hood pins..i don't totally understand what you wrote there. But, i've never heard of anyone filling in the holes on a CF hood. If your hood is wobbling, I'd recommend to put it or keep hood pins in it. If it comes up and hits your roof and dents it, that's all it take to total a car.

Better safe than sorry.

ive painted my cf hood. got to take it to a shop. i did not completely paitn it because that would be a waste. I just did the trims. THe edges were cracked so i told the bodyshop to fiberglass/repair it and paint it. Looks perfect with 2 coats of clear.

the process is different from painting fiberglass/cf than metal, but if you look carefull there's some little bump on the cf hood surface which need some work if you want a smooth painted surface
