Winter Storage
I am storing my car for the winter. Should i disconnect the right or left battery terminal to avoid having a dead battery in spring time. I also have this extension behind the front grill..........i think its hooked up to the battery. Anyone know the function of it? If i plug it in will it recharge the battery the whole winter?
its a block heater, if u plug it in it'll drain the battery more, its to keep the car warm when u park outside and stuff. you shouldn't plug it in if your storing the car, well unless you're storing it outside or something
Also, when i used to work at porsche we used to change the oil before storing a car...cuz old oil is acidic.......it is same with our cars?
or should i just drain the oil, cuz i wont be driving it?

Change the oil, put the car on blocks so you don't screw your tires. I'd get a full tank of gas and put some stablizer stuff in it, and start the every once a week and let it get to running temperature.
I really agree with using stabilizer in the fuel tank. Has anybody else ever heard of the idea of spraying light machine oil into the cylinders (through the sparkplug holes) to prevent corrosion during long-term storage? I seem to remember reading that about a guy was storing an old Triumph or something like that.
Is pickling the motor (filling the entire thing up with oil) good for these cars? It was common for people to do with old domestics. Keeps everything oiled, just don't start it obviously. Usually the biggest problem is the seals dry out so to speak, so it seems like a good idea. Anyone else have opinions on this?
