Default Any hints or tips to keep rear view from moving??

My setup is a Punch series amp bridged running one 12 at about 300W or so RMS. When the bass hits, it hits pretty hard. Anyway my rearview mirror keeps moving drastically after a few minutes of listening. Is there any tricks that others do to keep it from moving?? If it matters, I also have one of those broadway wideview mirrors on top of the stock mirror

lol I actually love when the thing starts going nuts. Kinda looks like theres a severe earthquake and all the others cars and road and **** is geting bounced around.

I really dont see a way to stop this unless you could get creative and put deadner between the glass and mirror but still I think the entire assembly would still shake.

I was thinking the samething but I was just gauging to see if anyone did actually think of something. Its not like I use it much anyway. I usually drive the civic less than 5 miles a day. I work on base and I live on base so the trips are short

you could pull apart the rear view and add like tape(ghetto way ) where the ball goes. That should tighten it up enough to keep it from moving.

I dont think it actually moves like from where he cant see out the back window with. I hink he means it just shakes with the bass. Could be wrong but thats the way I read it

Well if it's not moving completely down to where you can see anymore like mine does you don't really have to worry.
Putting tape on the ball joint works. It's ghetto but it works.

Get a new rearview mirror. Too much vibration over time may make that ball joint wear. I used to have this problem

Temp fix is duct tape applied to the right place on the ball.

well.. i have a 90 bmw 525... my system is 1000 watts, i bump it hard daily... my rearview used to shake a bit too.. i just took the whole thing out, glued it back together wiht epoxy? i think it is... and slapped a 300mm broadway on it. still vibrates, but i think this is the best it will get.

easiest thing in the world... but then again not to most professional. just put a girl's hair-tie twisted around the the ball, right where it connects to the mirror casing. or a rubber-band, whatever. Works like a charm, and is free.

LOL! As I read that sentence I was thinking girls panties, but then it said twist-tie and lost my attention completely.

Low budget fix = wrap a rubber band around the entire mirror, until it's tight around the ball mount, it will hold it steady, and you can't really see it from the outside unless you're really looking for it.
