Has anyone here delt with 1daypaint? Its a West Coast body shop that has really cehap prices. If anyone would want to look at their website, it is 1daypaint.com
I really want a new paint job, because mine is starting to peel from when the first owner of my car decided to get it repainted, and also i would like to take out my spoiler plugs and get that sanded, as well as my side moldings and acura emblems, etc. If anyone has any advice of where to go in bay area please let me know, or also if 1daypaint looks legit. I did a search, but wasnt exactly finding what i was looking for. Thanks alot

From what I have heard from others on this board, the paint job by those 1 day paint places look good in the beginning. Lets say after about a year or so they paint starts deteriorating. This is because they do a 1 step paint job where they mix everything in together and spray. The longevity is not there. If you want something temporary then go for it. If you want something that will last long save up some money and do it right.
I just got the 1 step paint and I'm happy with it. It was $319 with 30 months warranty against any defects. I check out the facility. what they do is mix everything paint and clear. they spray a coat of primer then the paint. After that, they bake the car in this huge oven for a day. I had some body work, plus they pianted the jams. it was total of $700. The engine bay is not painted.

hey jun, how long ago did they paint it? Ive heard that they do only look good for a short period of time, but they come with a 5 year warrenty. When i called and asked about that they said within 5 years if your unhappy with it due to quality of paint(chips fading, etc...), they will redo it for free. So that makes me beleive that it might last for awhile.

The paint has to do with lots stuff. Like how you take care of it. I sold my 98 prelude not too long ago. Bird used to **** on it when I go to the beach. If you don't wash it off right away, it will eat the paint. I also left katch up stains and lemon bacardi stains. There are lots everyday things that can ruin the paint. So, as long as you wash your car when It is dirty. The paint would be fine, or the paint shop is going to lose money if the quality sucks. My friend's paint is over a year and it still shines, I just got my done last month.
i have had 3 paint jobs from 1day paint and body...
first time i painted it there was because i was painting my "b0dy kit y0" .. which was 4 years ago... they charged me 450$.. door jams.. everything excpete engine bay.. second time was a year later.. they charged me 400$ .. door jams and everything.. and that lasted me 2 years.. but a lot of freeway driving will chip you like crazyyyyyyyy.... and then i recently (7 months ago).. painted it green .. 375$... it looks terrible now because i have a lotttttttttt of freeway chips..and a big gash in the paint from a idiot reversing into me... i duno my work was clean for the money i paid .. but if you do a lot of freeway driving.. your going to get owned..
