Default help removing 4thgen prelude speakers with out opening door

does any one know how it would be possible to take out front speakers on a 4th gen prelude with out opening the door my friend got in an accidnet and cant open the door but he wants his speares out any help?

You can take out the speaker... but you would probably end up hacking the door panel apart to do so.

Just try prying around the speaker grill... if that still doesn't work then start hacking away.

I"ve had to change my speakers out before. The only way I see it happening is if you remove the whole door panel.


It isn't that hard. Make sure all the snap buttons are popped out and the screws removed. Pop the screw out on the interior door lever and take the panel off. Once all that is done, you should be able to like up and back on the panel, it should pop right off...

...it was a pain the first time I did it b/c I had to feel it out.

Whats size speakers are you installing?

t0ekn3e: If the sideof the cars sides' real mashed up just get a large crowbar and work your way around the edge of the frame an rip the beast off, but whatchout those doors will break your feet if they fall on u !!, Thats the only way i could see you getting them out !

im not installing removeing some mb quarts 6.5 compments and ill try to pry the door out with th crowbar thanks for the help

My bad....need to quit the caffine .


The crowbar is what I would do then. If you can do it from the inside, you can use an electric hacksaw and cut the interior molding around the speaker. I'd start at the "bulge" above the speaker area just to get a visual on what else needs to be cut.

try an angle grinder or sawzall and cut that part of the door panel off.
