balancer/auto ten missing? Pic inside?
went to change the alternator belt and the guy helping me said i was missing a part? what is is and is there any effects to not having it?
maybe i didnt ask it correctly, it has nothing to do with the valve cover missing

on my alternator, i see a hole,, and nothing under it, local guy said i was missing the auto ten there.. is there anything that bolts on to the alternator? that was the only picture of the alternator i had

Do you see a pretty loong bolt that runs through the alternator attached to a bracket? That bolt adjust the tension in your alternator belt and that's what i'm thinking the guy was telling you

hey bro i know what your talking about and you dont need it! just have a friend pull it tight while you tighten it down! that what i did and it works fine! its not a auto tensioner its just a screw you can tighten instead of trying to pull it tight!

But it is the two bolt little thing under the alternator, i went out and looked today at a car in the parking lot: Kid showed me, it has two bolts, i guess its used to help tighten the alterator belt
