Default Building a CRX Help

Me and a close friend of mine are going to build a 91 HF for street and strip drag racing. We need something that isn't driven everyday but is able to drive into town and things like that. What setup would you use. We were thinking along the lines of a B18C5 or a CRVTEC but we haven't decided to go turbo or nitrous let me know what you guys think.

if you are going forced induction, the c5 is the last swap I would use. It cost to much $$,if your gonna boost you can boost anything and get it faster than a stock c5 and be cheaper. I would get a h22,build it up and do a LARGE nitrous shot. Or the same thing to a b20. Nitrous will get you into the 11's pretty fast!

I agree, H22A would just be something else for drag

H22a=lots of power potential for cheap
B18C5=lots of power for $$$$
H22a=dont plan on taking a turn at 90mph
B18C5=$$$$

B18B turbo. Cheaper than both an H22 and a B18C, not to mention youll still be able to turn.

I do not like NO2 because it stretches everything and you will have to do more maintenance than you want too.

Well the H22 was a first though but from what I have heard it will be a pain to actually be able to drive that through town so I wam going to try and keep it B series. So B18B Turbo and forget the C5. Any other suggestions.

What about doing something like a B18C1 or B16 with the stroker kit that strokes them to like a 2.1 liter.

I wasnt being literal.

The H22 is a very big motor for a crx, dont get me wrong it is an awesome engine, but you would have to do a lot of modification and beef up your suspension, brakes, etc.... all that equals weight, same wth a b18 but worse with an H22.
Your weight ratio would horrible also.

he is running in a straight line. all he needs to do is upgrade the suspention. Something he has to do anyways.

That is what I said in the first place. An H22a is better that a bseries for your money. H22a is better for drag. Is there an echo in here.

h22 ---stright line racing, good for stright drag
c5----good for all motor drag, too high of compression for turbo really.....
I would go b20VTEC Fully Built Turbo....that me...

Why is it...
that everyone claims that the "technology" in Japanese cars is the replacement for displacement...
until something like this comes up...
and now its Theres no replacement for displacement?

but like I said before I am not only going to drive the car in a strait line. I want the car able to drive in town so if someone wants to run I can go to the house get it and drive it back. I am thinking about just a good ol B18C1 with a stroker kit that lowers the compression and a jackson racing supercharger or a rev hard turbo kit.

Honda has lead the way when it comes to high rpm high horespower small engines. But look at the s2000, or the nsx. S2000=2.2 liter inline 4--- NSX=3.2 liter v-6. You cant deny that you will get more power with a higher displacment built motor (in most cases). Honda upped the displacement of the 2000 for more power.

You would scream with that setup on street tires.
