does anybody know or heard of anything about the 94-97 extended warranty coverage until 150,000 miles for honda accord, i think it covers some kind of valve in exhaust ...because today i got my 90,000 mile tune up and the dealer said something about that and they'll change it for me for free tomorrow when they get the part...could this be related to the check engine light that i have one?

Honda did an extended warranty on certain 94-97 Accords which basically gave a 7 year 140,000 mile extension. Which means that this should not be in affect anymore seeing as how the 97 model year is 7 years old. This is just what the paper that I got from Honda said, but you might want to call Honda and check for yourself.

 

there was an extended waranty on something exhaust related..i believe it was related to a buzzing sound coming from the piping

 

i believe that on emmisions components, catalytic converters oxygen sensors etc..
thay are covered by a federal regulation

the dealer in florida tried to swindle my sister when her header cracked. she has a civic with the header and cat as one unit (lx)
i went to the dealer up here and they produced a document that on her civic it was an 8 year federally mandated warranty.

i am unsure about you're year accord but i do know that emmisions parts that are federally regulated are a bit different than a normal warranty.

WARRANTY EXTENSION INFORMATION

American Honda is extending the emissions warranty on all affected vehicles to 14 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. The basic terms of this extended warranty are the same as given with the original Federal and California emissions warranties.

Federal Emissions Warranties

The time and mileage periods for the Emissions-related Design and Defects Warranty and the Emissions Performance Warranty are lengthened from 4 years or 50,000 miles to 14 years or 150,000 miles. All other terms, conditions, and exclusions still apply. All parts on the Emissions Parts List are now covered for 14 years or 150,000 miles, so the 8/80 notations on certain parts no longer apply.

California Emissions Warranties

The time and mileage periods for the Emissions Control Systems Defects Warranty and the Emissions Performance Warranty are lengthened from 4 years or 50,000 miles to 14 years or 150,000 miles. All other terms, conditions, and exclusions still apply. All parts on the Emissions Parts List are now covered for 14 years or
150,000 miles, so the 7/70 notations on certain parts no longer apply.
