Default Has anyone ever done a mini-me using a d16y7 head/d15b2 block?

I'm asking because ive already done a search and nothing came up. I know I will need a new timing belt, and Ive read a lot of post about VTEC heads using the z6 or vx timing belt. I dont know if any of these will work for a 96 d16y7 head. I also know this will yeild high compression. Is this in anyway bad for longitevity? Any info pertaining to this type of swap would be greatly appreciated.

i just pulled out a d15b8/d16y7 "mini-me" out of my car. it was a ******* dog turd. even with z6 multiport and a chipped PM6, i could barely beat DX CRX's with an intake.

btw, use a d16z6 timing belt.

Thanks for the info. So you didn't have a problem with compression? I was for sure that the bump in compression would make a difference. My car pulls pretty good considering that it's a 1.5. Was the swap pretty straightforward? Also, did you use a cam gear? The timing wasn't off? I know when I first purchased my car, it was slow as a dog, even with MPFI. Then I found out that the timing belt was off a tooth. Timing was all off. Anyone else agree with this?

Really? Now Im confused. I thought that the timing belt would be from the d16z6 as well because a lot of guys have been using it in there mini-me swaps?
