Default Mini-me whines with VX timing belt...help

I just installed my mini-me...and it runs perfectly! However, the timing belt whines like hell, expecially at higher RPM. I have a d15b7 block and a d16z6 head. I have looked all over and most people say that the VX timing belt is the one to use, although i have seen people using z6 timing belts with d15b7 mini me swaps. I know that the block is a 1.5 L, and i have a VTEC head, so the vx 1.5 timing belt should be the one...but it isnt. Will the whining go away, or do i need to go use the si timing belt...i tried my B7 timing belt and it was way too long. Someone please HELP!!!!

We got a mini done just earlier today and we used Z6 timing belt. And it worked just fine.

Tensioner may be too tight.

Really.

there are only two differnt timing belts for d series motors
1-(8~-91 all 92-95 lx,dx,cx) <long (non vtec style cast)
2-(92-95 si,vx,ex 96-00 all) <short (vtec style cast)
96-00 non vtec heads are from same cast as vtec heads

When I put a z6 head on my VX I just used the stock timing belt and had no problems. If I were you I would readjust the tensioner before doing anything else.
