LS/Vtec Feb-25-2004
Hello everyone. I will be performing an ls/vtec. It consist of a b16 1gen from JDM and a 1995 LS block. Now I'm going to use the B16 oil pump, I was wondering if I can go ahead and use the LS rods and pistons. I really don't wanna get down to the block, but then again, this is a non vtec or even yet not a high revoluting block. So will they be a difference in a GSR block then an LS block with: GSR pistons and connecting rods? Will the displacement be higher on an LS then a GSR block? I know the C.R. is higher on a GSR then a LS this is why I ask. Also I will be using nitro, so should I just leave the 9:2:1 C.R. that the LS comes with. I figure if the LS has forged rods and steel crank I know I can leave the LS bottom end parts. (high C.R. and forced induction don't match) I wanna play it safe and smart, so if anyone has any idea, I really don't wanna spend anymore money.
Thank you: SHAGGY

You don't know what an LS/VTEC is. You leave the rods and pistons alone, that LS stroke and bore and that VTEC head = high compression and good power. If you use a GSR crank, set of rods, and pistons, you'll have a GSR with more compression and better flow.
