Default stick

has anybody changed the stock accord shifter to a short throw, 2001 preferably? i was at fasttrackmotors.com and it says something about needing an adaptor. someone fill me in?

errrr... you need to ascertain the objective here... i have never honestly heard of a complete conversion, although it may be plausible. however, as for a short shifter kit, yes, they are available... all they do is use an adapter that changes the shifter-linkage geometry to reduce the throw lenghth...

there are no short shifters out for accords. there are short shift adapters tho. i have one on my 94 accord and i love it

So you just installed the short shifter adapter w/o changing the stick? Did you have the lift up your car to install the adapter?

you dont change the stick, that is why its an adapter, it not like integras or civics, it usage steel cable linkage

while were on this subject, anyone have these? ive heard some really good things about them, but does anyone actually have them? what are some of the advantages? any disadvantages?

Those are shifter bushings, for Civics/Integras .. Preludes and Accords have cable shifting.. And yes, the bushings are nice, for the civics/integras..

you remove your center console and disconnect the shift linkage then install the adapter.

cable linked transmission as opposed to direct link like the civics and integras have...the directlinks are less notchy and have more feed back \ vibration from the tranny
