Default Name That Part!

Hi!

I have a beautiful 92 Accord -- I just love it!

Someone in my family just broke a part, but I have no idea what this part's called so I don't know what to look for. Can you tell me the part name?

It's the plastic molding that surrounds the INSIDE passenger door handle. It's cracked in two, and it even seems to have been holding the actual handle in place. Now it's difficult to open that door. Everything else is fine; it's just that plastic piece.

Anyone? Anyone? lol

Best Wishes!

Welcome to HT

I dont believe that the part you are actually looking for has a name other then the trip piece that surrounds the door handle.. It would have a part number and if I had to bet VRDrvr will be posting a pic of the part number any moment but you could get a new one at either a junk yard or just go to a honda dealer..

Hi, Bagged & Mike.

Good idea! I hadn't thought of a junkyard -- perfect! I think I'll just go from there to the dealership if I don't find a used one. It's such a puny piece to be wasting such time on, the little plastic thing. Though it does seem a kinda important. I used to work at a shop where one of our guys broke this same part on a customer's car. Don't remember what the dealership called it when I called to order a new one, but I think it was something like $25 s.o. Might be worth about that if it prevents a headache.

Thanks, guys.

VRDrvr, you are awsome!!!

That's the part! My car's got a gray interior, but I'm not certain if that part's gray too and I can't go see at the moment. As soon as I can confirm the right color I'll check back in with you, if that's okay.

Thanks, VRDrvr. You're a very cool one.

Rubzerk,

Thank you so much! I'm gonna compare color and part #'s in the morning and see if either of those should be mine.

Best!

For a 92 your color I believe is palmy grey color code nh89L.... if you go to a junkyard usually trim pieces are taken first due to being plastic and breaking. You may just have to bite the bullet and buy a new one, the only way I have found to prevent it is to either drive around with your door locks unlocked because stupid people prying the hell out of the handle not realizing its locked or yell at everyone who enters the vehicle to not try and open the door before hitting the unlock. Sorry I have vented and am better now. http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com has your part for $19.27 just FYI .
