When I bought mine from blownhatch it was $160 shipped, but I think his price has gone up to $170 shipped now. http://www.boomslang.us sells a harness for $150 shipped. I have no complaints about jason's (blownhatch) harness, although it doesn't look at purty as the boomslang one. Someone also said that the boomslang harness doesn't come w/ instructions....but their site says it does.

Also, you may wish to read this: http://www.g2ic.com/forums/sho...86612

My harnesses are 150 shipped in the states. All brand new OEM pieces. I am now getting my wires and pins CRIMPED AT THE FACTORY! I did the R&D on my harnesses and am not some copy build setup. I can build you anything you want.

Jason, hopefully you didn't take that the wrong way.... your harness has worked flawlessly, and your customer support has been awesome. The aestheics don't really bother me, especially since its all covered by the carpet. And from what you just said it sounds like I have an older version, your new ones sound even better.

Now that your price matches theirs... I don't see any reason to pick theirs over yours, especially w/ your rep here on honda-tech.

blown,

i am in the middle of converting to obd1 and was wondering about the pinout from the obd0 engine harness to the obd1 dizzy:

pattern on the obd0: X X X and the obd1 dizzy: X X X X
X X X X X X
X

also the wires, although equal in number do not appear to match exactly on the color codes

any comments, exact descriptions or photo references?

You are basically trying to have either both the male and female OBD0 plugs or the male and female OBD1 plugs. You can either depin the plug and plug the pins into the other plug. OR you can cut and splice the plugs on. MAtch the colors. There will be 2 white wires on the OBD0 side of the plug. And there will be a yel/grn and a white on the OBD1 distributor. The larger of the two white wires need to go to the yel/grn wire on the OBD1 distributor. Occasionally the two white wires are the same size, if this is the case, just hook them up and it will only throw a code if they are incorrect. See this pic.

OBD0 plug on OBD2/1 distributor

That is a picture taken from the OBD2/1 side of the distributor with an OBD0 distributor plug repinned.

thanks for your response, jason

i have a distributor king dizzy obd1 and cannibalized the harness side plug from a miscellaneous Accord obd 1 that mates with it...so i am trying to solder up my harness side wires to the obd1 plug

some of the wire codes look the same, but some do not

looking at the engine harness side wires the last row of three goes:

peach/blue, peach, blue/green with the last "row" of one wire being white/blue

these do not correspond to the wires in the row of four on the dizzy plug side

in other words, it looks like my obd0 engine harness side is the same as your picture as best i can make out but am trying to do the "mate " to the obd1 side

any pics to help? sorry if i am not clear

Just give me the colors that are on the OBD0 side and also the colors that are on the OBD1 side and I will tell you what goes where.

Yes, you are OBD0 in your EF. If you want to run the OBD1 Vtec ecu, then yes you will need to convert to OBD1 with a conversion harness. I sell and stock OBD1 P28 SOHC Vtec ecus. They are 125 shipped each.

wow, thanks...nobody else wants to help

here goes:

obd0 engine harness side top row, second row, and third row (single wire):

blue/yellow, white, white/blue,
blue/green, peach, peach/blue,
thicker all white

obd 1 dizzy harness (as said, got from Distirbutor King but otherwise all new):

white, peach/blue, blue, yellow/blue
peach, white/blue, blue/yellow

that said, orange wire looks like peach so i just called it peach. also the white wire on the obd1 side is thinner & looks like the gauge of the other wires. can i just do color to color even though they would be outta sync?

thanks, jason & if you are in md/va like at Budd's Creek let me know

To blown90hatch's harnesses.

I wondered what that stuff was on the harness, it was kinda ugly, but i guess it does make sence, besides you dont even see the wiring once it gets shoved up under the centre console there.

I had the same problem about the dizzys. I used a obd2 and on the actuall distributors the wires were different colours. So i was kinda pissed. So i relized that the colours on my obd2 dizzy matched the ones on my obd0 engine harness side. Or something like that, and i soldered on a obd2 plug to the engine.

It works perfect now, started up perfecly, no codes. And the check engine light with toggle swich is nice.

I have debated using the epoxy for along time now. It costs an extra 3.50 per harness and takes an extra 10 mins or so. But then every time my wife gets in my car she always seems to plow my ecu and harness. Darn women.
