timing belt replacement
hey i just got a 97 ls with 85k on it. i need to replace the t-belt with the quickness. im gonna put in a water pump and replace all the other belts down there too. is there anything else i should do to the motor with i have it pulled, ie cams? if not new ones then how much can i advance the stock cams with out causing any engine reliabilty issues?
thanks
thanks
Whoa, slow down. First off, you don't necessarily have to pull the engine. Second, cam decisions require quite a bit of research, and usually a good chunk of money. Third, I don't suggest you advance the stock cams at all unless you have access to a dyno and know a good tuner. I suggest you do some research (use the search function at the top right of the screen). There is plenty of information to help you.

What are "super strongs," are you referencing the Toda and Power Enterprises timing belts? If you are, then $150 does sound pretty good. I know people who have paid more.
